The 11+ London Consortium (formerly known as the North London Girls’ Consortium) was created to help simplify the 11+ examination process for girls who are sitting entrance tests for several schools. The 11+ test involves examining English and Maths. In the English test, the focus is on writing and comprehension. Sometimes there are multiple choice questions however on the whole, pupils are asked to write full answers. All answers should be written in complete sentences and there are sections where these can be written.
In the Consortium Maths test, the question format is standard rather than multiple choice. The key skills required for these tests are being able to use one’s logic to answer some of the harder questions. The ability to think more creatively towards answering logical questions also is an indicator to the schools of who should be approached for a scholarship.
There is a wide variety of schools to choose from, if you wish to go down this route. We would recommend having a look at each school website which we have linked.
