Dancing keeps you in tremendous shape, it makes you strong and fit. It builds strong healthy muscles and bones by promoting the use of correct posture and correct form. Like all team sports, it promotes collaborative thinking and develops a group mentality. Dancing often involves elaborate routines consisting of many moving parts and different sub-groups weaving and working together too – allowing a strong line of communication to be built between people.

Just like other sports, dancing helps build a strong self-esteem and belief within, essential for performing difficult routines, mastering difficult situations and working as a team. These skills are fully transferrable and thus can be used towards problem solving and real-life situations. In this way, dancing can be an excellent confidence-booster.

Dance is more akin to art or music in that it is an expression of creativity, and of what lies beneath the surface. Dance could be a fantastic outlet for people to express their thoughts and troubles in a safe and constructive manner that is very easy on the eye. By choosing to dance and following your interests, you are following your path and truly expressing yourself. In essence, this is what it means to be a leader :to be able to follow your true beliefs regardless of how it may look or be portrayed in society.

Finally, the wonderful thing about dance is that it is a very cool and enviable skill to have!
