Physical Education has now moved beyond the typical sports such as netball and hockey. P.E and Sports Studies now aims to help students learn and understand positive activity habits that will last through their lives.
The four main sections of Physical Education are physical, mental, social, and emotional. Health and nutrition are also included in the P.E curriculum. Recently, there has been research into the benefits of sports studies. For example, there is a proven positive and useful link between brain development and exercising.
Pupils of Sports Studies will learn how to measure and judge performance. Pupils will also learn about the benefits of living in an active and healthy way and about current topics in sport. Current topics include the role of technology in sport, what influences health and physical education, and the importance of the media.
Students of this subject have many recent sporting events to look at, such as the 2012 London Olympics and 2015 Commonwealth Games. Students will also have the chance to look at the cultural impact of sport and sporting success in the UK. This exciting and modern subject looks at the structure of the human body and the promotion of health and appeals to many different people. There is so much more to this subject than just ‘playing’ a sport. Students also have to be able to tackle health, nutrition, science, psychology and sociology. This is where our tutors come in!
Kings Tutors can help match you with the best tutor for your needs. Our P.E and Sports Studies tutors have lots of experience teaching these topics and they love what they do. Our tutors can help students understand and love the subject, but also make sure they are given the tools to tackle the examinations confidently. Contact us for more information!
