Maths can sometimes be an unpopular subject with pupils. It can be tricky, and its real world applications often seem less immediate than with other subjects. But, there are some good reasons for sticking at maths over the years. Maths tuition can also really help when you are struggling.

Maths facilitates the development of abstract thinking skills that can help with problem solving in all different kinds of disciplines; it helps teach you to think outside the box. If you’re a high flyer keen to join a competitive graduate scheme in the finance or consultancy sector, companies like Ernst and Young require a minimum of an A grade at A-Level to apply. If you’re not so sure what you want to do, then maths keeps options like this open and also lets employers know you’re made of tough stuff.
