Find out about The Tutors’ Association CPD panel’s first ever event!

As many of you know, Emily, our founder, was very excitingly asked to sit on the board of The Tutors’ Association CPD event panel at the end of last year. The panel is responsible for the continuing professional development for its tutors. This is something we feel very strongly about as we believe our tutors need to receive lots of support for them to then be able to tutor to the best of their ability. At the start of February, we hosted The Tutors’ Association first ever CPD event panel.

This was a “tutors lunch” in Notting Hill. We spent the morning participating in a workshop that focused on the stress that exams can sometimes impose on a child and then listening to a talk about the positive impact a tutor can have on a child’s life. The talk was given by Dr Olivia Raw who is a well-regarded child psychologist. She was absolutely fascinating and gave a talk about her findings when it comes to how children cope under stress. It was brilliant that she then stayed for lunch with all of us too.

Lunch was a great opportunity for tutors to meet other people in the industry and hear about their experiences. All in all, the day was a great success and everyone enjoyed their time together. It has set a high precedent to follow when it comes to upcoming CPD panel’s events! We believe that that events such as these are crucial for the development of our tutoring teams. Tutoring is a constantly evolving profession and it is so important to keep abreast of educational developments; key areas of focus in public interest; and in creating a sturdy tutoring network so that everyone can share their ideas and successes. It is such an honour therefore to be part of The Tutors’ Association and we can not wait to be involved with future panel events.
