1. Over 220 million people speak French, all over the world. Like English, the French language was spread worldwide as a result of the French Empire, with the result that 77 states are now French-speaking. Knowing this language could therefore be very useful for travel and work, in addition to boosting your CV.

2. It is the language of the United Nations, the European Union, NATO, the Olympic Committee, and the International Red Cross. If you want to work in any of these global institutions, a knowledge of French is a helpful skill to have.
