The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is one of the most celebrated and prestigious garden events in the world. It returns this year for five days from the 21st to the 25th of May with the show being extensively covered on television by the BBC. Every year an average of 157,000 visitors come to see the show, with several members of the British Royal Family attending a preview of the show due to the royal patronage of the RHS.

The Artisan Studios are made up of six buildings at the centre of the Chelsea Flower Show. In this area you can discover the unique creations for the show being made by artists in front of your very eyes in an amazing display of modern-day arts and crafts.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s RHS Garden

The Duchess of Cambridge is teaming with the RHS and landscape architects, Andree Davies and Adam White, to create their 2019 entry to the Chelsea Flower Show. The woodland garden, entitled Back to Nature, represents a retreat from the modern-day world. Inspired by childhood memories, this garden is a place to create meaningful family memories whilst simultaneously celebrating the countryside. It aims to encourage communities to rediscover nature and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world, feeling the health benefits it has to offer us mentally and physically. As detailed on Kensington Palace’s Instagram, the focus of the Duchess’ garden is indeed “to highlight how being active in nature can positively impact our physical and mental health.”

The benefits of spending time in nature are endless. Not only can a walk in the great outdoors improve your mood and reduce your stress levels but it also provides you with the opportunity to take time out from your daily schedule and feel on the whole more relaxed and calm. The focus on health and wellbeing at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show is only helping to raise awareness for nature’s power to boost our mental and physical health as its gardens on show, include the Duchess of Cambridge’s garden, represent therapeutic outdoor retreats from the stress of our everyday lives.
