Located in Wimbledon, Rutlish School was founded over 125 years ago and is a comprehensive secondary school for boys aged 11 to 19. The school has a joint Sixth Form with Richards Lodge School so branches out to being co-educational in later years. The school was founded from the money left by William Rutlish, King Charles II’s chief embroiderer,  in 1687 to build a school to educate the poor children in Merton.

Rutlish school has a wide range of sporting facilities including a sports hall and full-sized grass pitches for football, rugby, and cricket. Students can also take part in indoor rowing, fitness, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and tennis. The school also has a large school hall, computer suites and a library. Students in the Sixth Form can make use of the Sixth Form centre at Rutlish school as well as the one at Richards Lodge High School.

In the most recent Ofsted inspection, Rutlish was named as an ‘outstanding’ school. In 2020, approximately 26% of all GCSE results were between Grades 9 to 7.
