Chemistry

Studying Chemistry opens up a great number of opportunities. Many choose to pursue further study and head into research, some head into related fields such as in the pharmaceutical industry or forensics whereas others may start a career in something completely unrelated.

Chemistry is known to be academically challenging and thus is regarded highly, the analysis and problem solving skills involved mean that many choose to follow a career in business or finance.

Physics

Whilst Physics is based in practical work, studying physics also includes a great deal of theoretical learning, preparing you for researched-based and scientific roles, as well as business and finance.

Many industries employ physicists, including aerospace and defence, energy, engineering, oil and gas and space exploration. These sectors offer exciting and innovative opportunities to graduates.

Those not directly using their physics degree are able to pursue careers in a range of areas, such as IT and consultancy, financial services and the legal sector.

Modern Languages
Studying a Modern Language, such as French, Spanish or German, will provide you with skills that are highly in demand in a wide range of industries, all around the world.
Learning a foreign language helps you to become an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, valuable skills that will make you a desirable candidate in a wide range of industries.
Modern language graduates go into a wide range of careers; including diplomacy, interpreting and translation, administration, hospitality, advertising, media and publishing.

Classics
Studying for a Classics degree demonstrates your intellectual flexibility and skills in analytical thinking. For classics graduates wishing to use their subject knowledge, museums are key employers, teaching also provides a great opportunity to share your expertise.
When you study classics, you learn about a wide range of subjects and gain a wide range of skills, meaning that graduates are attractive to employers from many different areas, including law, finance, consultancy, accountancy, media, publishing and management.

Geography
Like most humanities subjects, geography can lead to a wide range of careers. Geography graduates may go into fields such as climatology, surveying, town planning or conservation. Geographers are often employed by sectors such as the local government, environmental protection agencies, charities and the civil service. The research and technical skills developed by geography students during their degrees are also useful in areas outside of geography, attracting employers from the business, law and finance sectors.

Theology and Religious Studies
Although a common misconception, most of those who study theology do not plan on entering the church. Religious studies graduates are able to understand the perspectives of people all around the world and as such, are often great empathisers.
Many will move into research and further study and in the wider employment market, often take on human resources or general management roles. Often students find jobs in sectors such as the legal profession, journalism, education and social work.
