This will be an event where children and their families will experience the magic of being transported into their favourite book live in an iconic London setting. Many celebrities and famous authors are due to read stories throughout the day.

Get London Reading, launched two years ago to help struggling readers and has so far raised £1 million, including £500,000 from the Mayor’s Fund for London. The money that has been raised goes towards supporting 700 reading volunteers who have been trained by campaign partners Beanstalk. These volunteers help more than 2,000 children across 147 London primary schools in some of the Capital’s most disadvantaged areas including Hackney, Islington, Tower Hamlets, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Newham.
