William tutors our daughter for English and History. He began tutoring her when she was in year 10. She is now in year 12 studying History, English Lit and Art A level, and William remains a key part of her academic life, challenging her, inspiring her and being there for her every time she starts to doubt herself and needs reassurance or a calming voice. William started working with Francesca at a very difficult time in her life when she was battling with her mental health and had become despondent about school and her own ability. In fact, she had dropped out of school completely. Watching William work with Francesca was incredible. He helped her rediscover a love of learning (she had come to dislike even her favourite subjects at school). He challenges her intellectually in a way that inspires her confidence rather than makes her anxious, and in doing this has enabled her to enjoy studying again. He guided her through eighteen months home schooling, GCSEs (in which she did very well), a pandemic and most importantly back into mainstream education where she has successfully completed the lower 6th, an outstanding EPQ dissertation and is now applying to universities.

William has an innate ability to engage with young people in a way that works specifically for them and their individual needs/learning style. He is adaptable, highly intelligent and kind. He makes learning enjoyable and interesting, and will really challenge his pupils intellectually without them even realising. He has been an absolute rock helping our daughter navigate some really challenging times over the past two years, by engaging with her in a way that no other teacher has managed to before. We couldn’t recommend him more highly and our daughter wouldn’t have achieved what she has so far without him.

We had Gavin tutor our son for 11+ English as well as for general independent school advice. In English, Gavin covered all the advanced areas - comprehension, vocabulary building and writing. Our son tremendously enjoyed the process; Gavin is well-qualified and quite thorough in what he does. We found it quite easy to work with Gavin as he is willing to accommodate additional requests and slight modifications, in both the programme and the schedule. Throughout the lockdown gloom, his tutorship was one of the brightest and most positive experiences overall. We have received an offer from Kent Grammar! It’s a great result. He got 85% percent for English which is great, and his maths and reasoning is amazing too. From where he was and where is he is now is a massive improvement.

Nirvasha was an excellent and inspiring maths teacher for our son during the Autumn term to prepare him for the maths ISEB test. For just under 3 months she gave him lessons weekly. Practiced Covid rules, and was very efficient, I would highly recommend her as a maths tutor.
