The first step to selecting your private tutor is a discussion to discover exactly what the academic and/or pastoral requirements are. From specific exam preparation to catching up on missed schoolwork; for teenage girls or young boys, we decipher the exact requirements to ensure the best tutor for the particular tutee.
We then propose an appropriate tutor equipped with the specific skills, personality, teaching style and experience for the tutee’s needs. We work hard to find the perfect match on every occasion – The Good Schools Guide describe us as ‘meticulous at matching’. Once we have done so, we will send the tutor’s details to you for approval.
We actively encourage three-way communication between pupil, tutor and parent – a collaborative aspect that is hugely helpful in helping the pupil achieve their academic potential. It ensures the pupil receives all possible support and is happy with the programme that has been put in place.
We share and receive feedback with both parent and tutee after the first session. This is to check that everything has gone smoothly and that everyone is happy with next steps. We are always keen to ensure that a realistic programme has indeed put in place – and will adjust whenever needed.
After each session, our tutors complete a ‘Parent Report’. This details topics covered, as well as the tutee’s concentration and progress levels. We provide parents with a password-secure online tool – allowing them to view these reports whenever and wherever they’d like. Additionally, parents can call us at any time for a more in depth catch-up.
